The IPL 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans became historic thanks to 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Playing at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the young opener scored a stunning century in just 35 balls, breaking several records and making a grand entry into world cricket.

Batting first, Shubman Gill’s 84 off 50 balls and Jos Buttler’s half-century put GT on top as they set 209 runs on the board at the loss of 4 wickets. While the chase was steep, 14-year-old teenager Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a mockery of the Titans in the second inning.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Re-Writes IPL History!

He went berserk, smashing Ishant Sharma for 28 runs in the powerplay. He went on after Karim Janat to hit 30 runs. With a towering six against Rashid Khan, Suryavanshi brought up his century in just 35 balls. He finished with 101 off 38 balls with 7 fours, 11 sixes, and a 265.79 strike rate.

Meanwhile, Vaibhav Suryavanshi shattered several records with his historic knock. Here's a full list of the same.

  • Suryavanshi became the youngest (14 years and 32 days old) ever to score a century in T20 cricket and IPL, beating the earlier record held by Vijay Zol.
  • He smashed his half-century in just 17 balls, the fastest in IPL 2025, the second fastest for RR, and the fastest ever for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans.
  • Suryavanshi smashed 11 sixes, equalling Murali Vijay’s record for most sixes by an Indian in an IPL match. It is also the most sixes achieved by an RR batter in an IPL inning.
  • His 35-ball hundred is now the second-fastest century in IPL history, only behind Chris Gayle’s 30-ball ton for RCB in 2013. It's also the fastest 100 for RR.
  • He was part of a 166-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, the highest ever for Rajasthan Royals.
  • The third inning is the earliest by an Indian batter to score an IPL century, bettering four each by Manish Pandey, Paul Valthaty, and Priyansh Arya.
  • Highest boundary percentage in an IPL ton (93%)
  • Vaibhav Suryavanshi played 38% false shots at the time of reaching his 50. Among the 96 50+ scores this season, only Ryan Rickelton had made more errors at the time of reaching his 50 - 44.1% against KKR at Wankhede.

Owing to Suryavanshi’s blistering knock, RR chased down the mighty total in 15.5 overs, sealing an 8-wicket win.
