Senior Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav picked up sensational match-winning figures of 3-18 from his four overs against Pakistan in match six of the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup in Dubai. The cricketer dismissed Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Nawaz off successive deliveries, before bagging the prized scalp of well-set opener Sahibzada Farhan to restrict Pakistan to 127-9. Notably, Kuldeep broke Mohammad Nawaz’s rare record of holding the best bowling figures by any spinner in an India vs Pakistan T20I game. Nawaz held the previous record for claiming figures of 3-33.
Pratika Rawal Beats Meg Lanning Record In AUS ODI
India Women opening batter Pratika Rawal shattered Meg Lanning’s longstanding record by scoring 64 runs off 96 balls against Australia Women in the first ODI of the three-match series. Notching up her seventh fifty-plus score in ODIs, Rawal now holds the highest number of runs in the format in her first 15 matches with 767 runs to her name. Former Australia captain Lanning held the previous record for tallying 707 runs in her first 15 women’s ODIs. Despite Pratika’s valiant effort, Team India lost the ODI in New Chandigarh courtesy of Phoebe Litchfield and Beth Mooney by eight wickets to go 0-1 down in the series.
Patidar, Tilak Varma To Lead India A In AUS A ODIs
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) senior men’s selection committee has unveiled the entire India A squad for the three-match one-day series against Australia A starting later this month. The committee named Rajat Patidar as India A captain for the first match, and appointed international star Tilak Varma as skipper for the remaining two games. Star attractions like Arshdeep Singh, Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Harshit Rana, Ravi Bishnoi among others have also been included in the team.
WPL 2026 To Be Preponed To Avoid Clash With T20 WC: Report
The fourth edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will reportedly be preponed to January next year, as per the Times of India. The report indicates that the WPL 2026 season will be played early in a bid to avoid clashing with the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, also scheduled to be hosted by India. As per a source, the WPL 2026 season will likely start on either January 6 or January 8, and will conclude before the start of the T20 World Cup, as opposed to the tournament’s usual scheduling window of February and March.
Scott Currie Replaces Injured Saqib Mahmood For Ireland T20Is
The ECB has handed ex-Scotland fast bowler Scott Currie his maiden England call-up, doing so for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland in Dublin. The Hampshire cricketer will be replacing Saqib Mahmood, who has been ruled out of the England team for the series against Ireland and New Zealand owing to a knee injury. Scott Currie recently picked up 27 wickets in Hampshire’s runners-up campaign in the Vitality T20 Blast 2025 season, averaging 19.33 with the ball from 17 innings.
