On Sunday, September 14, India and Pakistan locked horns against each other at the Dubai International Stadium. The Men in Green, batting first, got off to the worst possible start as the Salman Ali Agha-led side lost eight wickets for less than 100 runs on the board.

Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah got the first breakthroughs, but soon the spinners spread their magic. Notably, Axar Patel took two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav extended his red-hot form as the left-arm spinner took three wickets to script history.

Kuldeep Yadav Goes Past Mohammad Nawaz

Yadav registered the figures of 3/18 in his four overs and surpassed Pakistan's Mohammad Nawaz to bowl the best-ever spell by a spinner in India-Pakistan T20Is. Prior to the ongoing match, Nawaz held the record for his figures of 3/33 against the Men in Blue at the same venue in August 2022.

Here is the list of the five best bowling performances by spinners in India-Pakistan T20Is.

  • Kuldeep Yadav - 3/18
  • Mohammad Nawaz - 3/33
  • Ravindra Jadeja - 2/11
  • R Ashwin - 2/16
  • Yuvraj Singh - 2/16

Overall, Kuldeep Yadav bowled the sixth-best figures in T20Is between India and Pakistan, as Mohammad Asif holds this elite record for his 4/18 against India in the 2007 T20I World Cup.

Kuldeep Yadav On A Red-Hot Form

Kuldeep Yadav is having a dream tournament so far, as the left-arm spinner has taken seven wickets in the tournament. Against the UAE, Kuldeep had taken four wickets in just 13 deliveries, scripting the feat for the fastest four-wicket haul in the shortest format of the game.

Even in the ongoing match against Pakistan, Kuldeep took two quick wickets and was also on a hat-trick at one point in the match. Talking about the game, the Men in Green put 127/9 on the board and India require 128 to win to extend their winning run.
