The ad rates for the upcoming India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match have reportedly faced a sharp decline. As per a report, the advertising rates for the blockbuster Group A clash of the tournament has fallen by 15 to 20 percent.

In contrast to the usual popularity in India vs Pakistan matches, the upcoming contest is set to be marred with geopolitical tensions and renewed security concerns, particularly in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam earlier this year, which has fuelled boycott calls among Indian nationalists and dampened advertiser confidence.

Fantasy App Ban, Terror Aftermath Impact IND vs PAK: Report

Industry experts are arguing that the sudden decline in the popularity of the upcoming India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match is caused by various factors, as reported by the Business-Standard. The report stated that the advertising rates of the match themselves have fallen by 15 to 20 percent.

As per the experts, the ban on online gaming fantasy apps by the Indian government last month is one of the major factors behind the sharp advertising rate decline, considering such apps have been among the biggest advertisers in cricket.

Certain other experts also believe that the Pahalgam terrorist attack earlier this year and the resultant Operation Sindoor, as well as the heightened cross-border geopolitical tensions between the two nuclear armed nations have amplified boycott calls among Indian nationalists, further discouraging brands from associating with the high-stakes Group A fixture.

Nonetheless, the India vs Pakistan Group A match of the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup is scheduled to be played on Sunday, September 14. The upcoming contest marks the sixth fixture of the tournament, and the third from the Group A segment, and the second respective outing for both sides.

The match will be hosted by the Dubai International Stadium and the action will commence from 8:00 PM IST onwards.
