India's first-choice wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul has joined the Indian Cricket Team in Sri Lanka. Rahul, who was cleared yesterday by the NCA medical team, has flown down to the island to join the the team for remaining matches of the Asia Cup.

Two weeks back when Chairman of Selector Ajit Agarkar and Captain Rohit Sharma addressed the media on the eve of the Asia Cup 2023 squad announcement, they spoke about KL's injury. Apparently, the keeper-batter attained a sore niggle injury during the team's camo in Alur.

However, the management stated KL's injury is a minor one and nothing to worry about his unavailability. But with each passing day, KL's injury issue got dragged away. Interestingly, the LSG captain has been included in India's World Cup 2023 squad, despite missing the initial two matches of the ongoing Asia Cup.

With KL coming in, will he get a direct entry to the playing XI when Ishan has performed so well. It is clearly visible from Rohit and Dravid's desperation to get Rahul in the Playing XI.

In that case one of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer will have to sit out in the Sunday clash against Pakistan. Another selection headache coming up for Rohit Sharma when he will have to take a brave call to field the playing XI against Pakistan.
