The Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have been in regular talks since the reports about lousy weather in Colombo - where most of the Super-4 matches are scheduled for - broke in the media. As per the latest reports coming to OneCricket, it has been understood that the Jay Shah-led BCCI is under the pump as they forced ACC to shift their matches of the Asia Cup 2023 out of Pakistan.

If the weather reports are to be believed, Colombo will face relentless rain for the next two weeks, starting from September 7, Thursday. Interestingly, the Pakistan leg of the Asia Cup will end on Wednesday, meaning all teams will head to Sri Lanka for their respective Super-4 matches and the final. However, the rain could play a spoilsport during the games in Colombo.

According to the sources, the ACC and PCB are considering substitutes if case Colombo's weather doesn't permit them. As per the talks, the Super-4 matches could move to Pallekele, not anywhere else.

It has been told to OneCricket by on-ground reports - Sandipan Banerjee and Abhishek Tripathi - that the matches could not be moved to Hambantota, Dambulla or Galle, as all three venues have their limitations. Additionally, the hosts would decide the tournament's fate after Monday's fixture between India and Nepal.

It is worth mentioning that after today, there is no match scheduled for Sri Lanka until Saturday, when A1 and B2 will face each other.
