Day 1 began with challenges as overnight rain rendered parts of the Green Park Stadium unplayable, and the toss was delayed due to a damp outfield. While the umpires inspected the field, the players engaged in warm-ups, with Kohli stepping onto the field with his bat in hand. 

A poignant incident unfolded as the groundsmen were busy removing covers from the pitch. A member of the ground staff approached Kohli, and he bent down to touch Kohli's feet. Kohli was taken aback by the sincerity of the gesture and immediately reached out to help the staff member. Another staff member gently guided the admirer away.


Virat Kohli's Return To Test Cricket

Kohli's return to Test cricket has been highly anticipated, especially following a year-long absence due to personal reasons. In the previous match against Bangladesh in Chennai, he faced difficulties, scoring just 6 and 17 runs across both innings.
