The 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh is underway at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The Rohit Sharma-led side won the toss and was elected to field first. India are leading 1-0 in the two-match Test series courtesy of Ravichandran Ashwin, who scored a century in the first match and also took a six-wicket haul in an innings.

In the latest events, India legend Sunil Gavaskar, who was on-air in the first session of the 2nd Test, heaped massive praise on R Ashwin for his batting display at the Chepauk Stadium. While speaking highly of Ashwin, Gavaskar also roasted English media for their critical views on spin-friendly tracks in India.

It is a common practice for English media to downgrade the tracks produced in India and other subcontinental countries. India is known for spin-friendly pitches, which Western countries find difficult to adapt. However, the same media puts the blame on the opposition when the visitors suffer a defeat in English conditions.

Meanwhile, Gavaskar called the English media 'Big Crybabies' for their remarks on Indian pitches. Gavaskar referred to England's tour to India in 2021, where Ashwin scored a century in Chennai. He said:

'' Ashwin told at the media conference that if you apply yourself, you will get a century, and he walked the talk. But English media were 'What Kind of a pitch is this?' and all cry baby remarks we get to hear from English media."
