The toss for the second Test between India and Bangladesh has been delayed due to the wet outfield at the Greenfield Stadium in Kanpur and the next inspection is scheduled to take played at 9.30 AM IST. It has been raining in Kanpur for the last few days, and the overnight showers have now delayed the toss and the start of the game with groundstaff still busy in drying some patches on the outfield.

However, if it does not rain, the match is expected to start soon as the covers are off the main pitch and most of the part of the 30-yard circle. The conditions, though, are expected to be overcast throughout the day, and there are chances of light showers, so it would most probably be a curtailed opening day of this second and final Test match of the series.

Overhead Conditions Expected To Affect Team Combination

Also, there are chances of rain on Day 2 as well while the weather is expected to get bit better from Day 3 onwards. So, the overhead conditions are expected to affect the dynamics of the game, and it might force both the captains to go with three seamers again despite the slow and low nature of the pitch.

India are coming into this Test match on the back of a thumping win by 280 runs in the first Test match at the Chepauk. Ravichandran Ashwin was the stand-out performer for India with a century and a six-wicket haul, and he, along with Ravindra Jadeja, are likely to play a big role again. For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan is available which is a big boost for the visitors and the Bangla Tigers would be itching to make a strong comeback in this Test.

Update - The umpires are done with inspection and the toss will take place at 10:00 AM IST and the game is set to start at 10:30 AM.
