New Zealand cricket star Kane Williamson has officially joined Karachi Kings for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 season. This will be his debut in the PSL, and he had already been picked up by Karachi Kings earlier this year.

At 34 years old, Williamson will be reuniting with his former Sunrisers Hyderabad teammate, David Warner, who was appointed as the captain of the Karachi Kings for the season.

After Missing First Half, Kane Williamson Joins Karachi Kings

Before joining the team, Williamson was in India working as a part of the commentary team for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Now, the ace batter is all set to join his PSL team as he arrived in Lahore.

Unfortunately, he missed the first five matches of the season, but he is expected to play in the upcoming match against Quetta Gladiators on Friday, April 25.

Kane Williamson Went Unsold In IPL

Kane Williamson had a long and successful IPL career, playing for ten seasons from 2015 to 2024. However, he went unsold in the 2025 IPL auction. He was a key player for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and led them to the IPL 2018 final, where they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). That year, he scored 735 runs in 17 matches, winning the Orange Cap for being the top scorer with an average of 52.50 and eight half-centuries.

After his time with SRH ended in 2022, Williamson played for Gujarat Titans in the next two IPL seasons. Even though he wasn’t picked up in the IPL 2025 auction, he was drafted by Karachi Kings for the PSL 2025 season as a supplementary player, and he’s eager to make an impact.

Currently, under David Warner's captaincy, Karachi Kings are in second place on the PSL points table, with three wins out of five matches.
