In a significant development, Australian and RCB fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is all set to rejoin the squad ahead of the IPL 2025 playoffs. According to reports by Hindustan Times, Hazlewood is preparing to arrive in India by the end of next week and will be available for selection during the knockout phase of the tournament.

It is important to note that Josh Hazlewood had suffered a shoulder niggle and had earlier missed RCB's clash against Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite the injury concern, the ace pacer has been one of the standout performers this season. 

He has taken 18 wickets in just 10 matches, placing him third on the list of leading wicket-takers in IPL 2025.

"Josh is preparing to arrive in India by the end of last week (of May). He will be available for the franchise for the playoffs," a well-informed source confirmed to Hindustan Times.

The news of his return could not have come at a better time for the Rajat Patidar-led side, especially with South African speedster Lungi Ngidi set to miss the playoffs. CSA has called back its players from the IPL by May 26 in preparation for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final, leaving RCB short on pace options.

Hazlewood had earlier flown back home after the tournament was temporarily suspended due to escalating tensions at the India-Pakistan border. With the ceasefire now declared and the IPL resuming, fans have eagerly awaited clarity on the Aussie pacer's return. 

Speculations swirled regarding his availability, especially amid reports suggesting he was hesitant to return under current circumstances.

However, Hazlewood has reportedly initiated positive discussions with RCB management and is likely to return for the crucial final leg of the season. His presence is expected to significantly bolster the franchise’s chances in the playoffs, given his proven ability to deliver in high-pressure situations.

It is important to mention that RCB is currently positioned at the second position of the points table with 16 points 11 matches they have played before the suspension of the league.
