Karachi Kings began their Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaign in a fantastic way under their new captain, David Warner. They pulled off one of the biggest run chases in PSL history, all thanks to a thrilling match against Multan Sultans.
Vince’s Blazing Ton Leads Karachi Kings to Historic Win
The real star of the night was James Vince, who smashed a brilliant century (100 runs) - his seventh in T20 cricket, which is the second-highest by any English player in this format. Playing on a good batting pitch at Karachi’s National Stadium, Vince played shots all around the ground and made full use of the conditions.
He got great support from Tim Seifert at the beginning and later from Khushdil Shah, as the Kings successfully chased down a massive 235-run target with just 4 balls left in the match.
After the game, Vince was awarded the ‘Reliable Player of the Match’ for his game-changing performance. But here’s the fun twist - instead of a regular trophy or medal, the Karachi Kings owner gifted him a hair dryer as a quirky and fun token of appreciation in the dressing room.

Mohammad Rizwan’s Century Goes In Vain
Earlier in the match, Mohammad Rizwan played a superb innings and scored his second PSL century. With help from Kamran Ghulam and Michael Bracewell, Multan Sultans ended their innings at 234/5.
However, they also started strong with the ball, removing three quick wickets and putting Karachi Kings under pressure. Karachi were struggling at 79/4, but then Vince and Khushdil Shah joined forces and turned the game around. The duo added 142 runs for the fifth wicket in just 67 balls, especially attacking Multan’s spinners Usama Mir and Bracewell.
Vince scored his 100 in just 42 balls. Unfortunately, he got run out right after reaching his ton, and Khushdil also got out soon after. But the remaining batters, Irfan Khan Niazi and Abbas Afridi, finished the job and sealed the win.
