James Vince’s seventh T20 century powered Karachi to their highest successful run-chase last night. In what was the third-highest successful run-chase in Pakistan Super League history, it was the highest against Multan Sultans and at the National Stadium.
Coming in only the third match of the ongoing 10th season of the PSL, it has laid a solid foundation with regard to the extent of expectations that fans can have from the competition. Vince’s knock also nullified the impact of Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan’s third T20 century.

[Fastest centuries in the Pakistan Super League]
Vince, 32, walked in to bat at No. 3 to score 101 (43) with the help of 14 fours and four sixes. Having entered with KK needing 195 runs off 100 balls, the equation had reduced to 14 off 12 at the time of Vince’s run-out.
Resulting in a 4-wicket victory, a strike rate of 234.88 makes it the right-handed batter’s second-fastest PSL knock. Overall, it was his second-fastest innings in the format (min. 20 balls). Readers must note that both the instances have come in the PSL.
By the medium of a maiden PSL ton, Vince has continued his tryst with the tournament. A modern-day T20 mercenary, Vince’s PSL strike rate of 141.40 is the highest among the eight T20 leagues he’s participated in till now. One of the few players to have played eight PSL seasons, this is Vince’s fourth across two stints for Karachi Kings.
While most of Vince’s T20 achievements have come as an opening batter, this was his first T20 hundred at No. 3.
