Abhay Sharma to join LSG as fielding coach for IPL 2026: Report

Former Delhi and Railways cricketer Abhay Sharma will reportedly join the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise as their new fielding coach, thus replacing former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes as part of the team's coaching overhaul. He previously served as the head coach of the Uganda cricket team during the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup and was the coach of the 2018 ICC Under-19 World Cup-winning India Under-19 team.

Meghalaya’s Akash Choudhary clubs fastest first-class fifty

Meghalaya cricketer Akash Choudhary bludgeoned an 11-ball fifty against Arunachal Pradesh on Day 2 of the Plate Group match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. His innings marked the fastest half-century in the history of first-class cricket, bettering Leicestershire’s Wayne Knight’s record of a 12-ball fifty. Moreover, Akash Choudhary also clattered eight sixes in a row at one stage, which included six sixes in one over to become only the third player in first-class history to do so after Gary Sobers and Ravi Shastri.

Overall, Choudhary finished his innings at 50* from 14 balls with eight huge sixes. He played out his last three deliveries as dots.

Connor Esterhuizen further clattered 52* at nearly a run-a-ball as South Africa A won the match by five wickets to spare during the final few moments of the day, thus rendering Dhruv Jure’s twin centuries in the game in vain.
