Gautam Gambhir, India's new head coach, has a history with senior Indian batsman Virat Kohli, stemming from clashes during their time in the IPL when Gambhir captained Kolkata Knight Riders.

Even after Gambhir became mentor for Lucknow Super Giants, their rivalry persisted both on and off the field. Last IPL season, Gambhir mentored KKR to an IPL victory. Before the KKR vs. RCB game, the newly appointed India head coach attempted to stoke the rivalry by targeting Kohli.

However, to everyone's surprise, they hugged when they met on the field after the match ending the rift, contrary to expectations.

Former Indian leg spinner Amit Mishra revealed that it was Gambhir who took the initiative to reconcile, indicating that the RCB legend had been the source of the tension.

"It was Gautam Gambhir who ended the feud with Virat Kohli by walking up to him & hugged him thereby showing his large heartedness. Although it should've been done by Kohli as he made the issue bigger & dragged it."-Mishra said.

Amit Mishra, a Delhi-based cricketer and IPL legend known for being one of the highest wicket-takers in the tournament, hasn't retired from franchise cricket at 42 years old and remains part of the Lucknow Super Giants squad.

Mishra will be making headlines by the criticisms on Virat Kohli, whom he has known for a long time as both the players are Delhi based. Even Gambhir is Delhi based cricketer like Kohli and Mishra.

Mishra also talked about how Kohli changed the attitude towards Mishra and other players after becoming captain of Team India. Mishra's latest comments are expected to generate significant attention and discussion in cricket circles.
