Virat Kohli's journey from a young talent to one of the world's best batsmen is a story of hard work, dedication, and an undying passion for cricket. We know with success comes difficult times and the same was witnessed by him.

The stalwart of modern cricket experienced a well-documented lean patch between late 2019 and 2022. Despite his talent, he struggled to convert starts into centuries across all formats, including the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In 2023 he marked a triumphant return to form and emerged as the leading run-scorer in both the ODI World Cup (765 runs) and the IPL.

Vikram Rathour On Virat Kohli's Tough Phase

Recently Vikram Rathour, former India batting coach has opened up about Virat Kohli's lean patch with the bat that lasted more than two years.

"There were no technical issues that we worked on specifically during this phase. The constant messaging to him was to keep working hard and believe in his methods. Eventually he came back stronger and an even better player," Rathour said.

He also stated that as Virat Struggled to deliver with the bat during the lean patch he faced criticism and hatred from everywhere. Vikram Rathour, the former selector, also mentioned that even there were widespread calls to drop him from the team.

He recalled that time and said that there was no 'technical issue' with his batting. He further added that he said Virat Kohli to believe in his methods and continue the hard work.

In the recently concluded T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli was not in decent form during the entire tournament as he just managed to score 75 runs before the final.

In the final against South Africa, Virat Kohli stepped up with the bat when it mattered the most. He scored 76 runs and helped India to secure its second victory in the T20 World Cup.
