Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is undeniably a cornerstone franchise within the Indian Premier League (IPL). Despite not yet securing the coveted IPL trophy, RCB has consistently demonstrated competitive prowess throughout the league's history.

Their journey has been marked by captivating matches, exceptional individual performances, and a remarkable team spirit.

Parthiv Patel recently appeared on the Cyrus Says podcast and shared his experiences with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during his four-year tenure with the franchise.

Parthiv Patel: Team Always Focused On Individual Players

Parthiv Patel mentioned that he felt the team always focused on individual players rather than functioning as a cohesive unit. He highlighted that the focus was primarily on star players like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle, who received special preference.

I played for RCB, I've have been there for 4 years. The team is always about individuals it's not about the Team. And then everyone will come out of that team will say that.

Patel also expressed that the team's culture was not up to the mark, which he believes contributed to RCB's failure to secure an IPL trophy in their 17-year history.

Because it's all about Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle when I was in the Team. So they were given the kind of special preference always so there the team culture was not there you can see clearly when they are playing, and that is the reason why they haven't won the trophies. That's the fact.

While RCB hasn't secured the IPL trophy, they've consistently been a strong contender, reaching the playoffs on multiple occasions. This consistent performance suggests their approach might not be entirely ineffective.
