In a significant news coming from Lucknow Super Giants' camp is that Nicholas Pooran is set to break the bank and pen a deal worth 21 crores to extend his services for the Giants.
Pooran is set to be the top retention and will fetch 21 crores, three crores more than the structure set by BCCI for retentions. The development has been reported by Revsportz, and with this Pooran will become the highest-paid player in LSG history.
Pooran To Become LSG's Highest-Paid Player
A lot is going on within the LSG camp as KL Rahul is set to part ways with the Giants because of personal and professional reasons. It is reported that Rahul was offered the top-retention, but once things turned sour with the right-hand batter, LSG turned their attention towards Pooran, who is also poised to succeed Rahul as the next LSG captain.
Pooran made a shift to LSG in 2023 for a whopping 16 crores and made an immediate impact. Thus, he will get a massive increase in his salary.
Other Retentions For LSG
Talking about the other retentions, then LSG will entrust young sensation Mayank Yadav, who will be retained for 11 crores, according to the same report. LSG could have got Yadav for just four crores, but he made his India debut against Bangladesh, which forced the Giants to spend a little more on him.
Further, Ravi Bishnoi will also get around 11 crores, and Lucknow are planning to retain two uncapped stars- Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan for four crores each.
Some of the noticeable names missing from the list are Quinton de Kock, Krunal Pandy, and Marcus Stoinis, who have been the backbone of this team for a long time.
