Ruturaj Gaikwad departed for golden duck (Source:@Heropantiii/X.com)
Ruturaj Gaikwad, the right-handed opening batter is one of the most highly rated cricketers in India and is known for his consistency. He is leading India A against Australia-A currently and there were expectations that he would score big runs and remind selectors of his quality. However, in a massive disappointment for the fans, Gaikwad fell on the very first ball of his innings as Jordan Buckinghman, the tall right-handed bowler got the better of him.
Australia A won the toss and decided to bowl first. The first over was negotiated by Abhimanyu Easwaran, but on the first delivery of the second over, Gaikwad departed. It was a bit unlucky dismissal, the bowled bowled it full and angling into leg. A nothing delivery actually, and Ruturaj Gaikwad tried to flick it. He did not get the desired direction to his shot and the ball went left of the keeper.
Josh Philippe Grabs A Stunner
Josh Philippie, behind the stumps, dived to his left and took a brilliant catch to send back India A captain back to the hut. It was a stunning catch from the wicketkeeper and Gaikwad who has not been part of any Indian team at the international level in recent times, would be disappointed to lose an opportunity.
Jordan Buckingham continued to do well after Gaikwad's wicket and removed Easwaran while Brendon Doggett bagged a five-wicket haul as India-A crumbled big time.
