The cricketing universe is just days away from a historic event. The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup, hosted by the USA and the West Indies, will begin on June 2. 

For the first time ever, the US will be graced with the legendary cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan. The Nassau County Cricket Stadium, built on the Eisenhower Park in New York, will be the stage for this epic clash on June 9. However, the anticipation is tinged with concern as terror threats loom over this game, leading the Long Island authorities to fortify security. While the governor's office has not found any evidence to confirm the threat claims, they have assured that there is 'no credible public safety threat at this time'; nevertheless, no stone is being left unturned. 


The Nassau County Cricket Stadium has been allotted eight matches during the marquee event, including the India vs Pakistan game. The involvement of the two cricketing giants will undoubtedly draw a massive number of fans to this game. 

'Lone Wolf Attack Threat' Prompts Increase in Security

Amidst the preparations for the epic clash, Nassau County executive Bruce Blakeman and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder revealed the threat of a 'lone wolf attack'. 

"Each and every day, Nassau County, as well as other communities and cities and counties and towns throughout the United States, receive all kings of threats. We take every threat seriously", - Blakeman said (quoted by CBS News). 


Police Commissioner Ryder assured "largest security in country's history" when asked about the lone-wolf attack tip-off. 

"When you've got a game and a crowd as big as this, everything is credible. We will go through every fine detail when it comes to the security and safety of the residents here in Nassau County. I can guarantee you this is the largest security we've ever had to do in this county's history, and I can also guarantee you the safest place to be in Nassau County on June 9 will be inside that stadium" - Ryder answered.
