There is a reason why Mark Wood is now called the fastest bowler in the planet. Azam Khan learned why on Thursday (May 30), when Pakistan were up against England in the fourth and final T20I of the series at The Oval.

Batting on 0 off five balls, Azam faced Wood during the 11th over of Pakistan’s innings. The Englishman bowled a back-of-a-length delivery at a sheer pace, and Azam, while attempting to dodge that, could not help himself from kissing it off his gloves.

The ball went up on the air behind the stumps, and Jos Buttler completed one of the simplest catches of his entire career before appealing for caught behind. The on-field umpire raised his finger immediately while Azam’s reactions suggested he did not know what just happened.

The initial reactions from Azam indicated he might go for DRS. However, he didn't, and started to walk off. The decision was right, as the replay showed there was a clear touch off his gloves before it went into Buttler's gloves.
