'They Can Beat Anybody...' England WC Winning Captain Predicts T20 World Cup Winner

Team India is gearing up for the T20 World Cup, set to begin on June 2nd in the USA and West Indies. Former England skipper Eoin Morgan has dubbed Team India the ‘strongest side’ in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

In a conversation with former England captains Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain on Sky Sports Cricket, Morgan praised the depth of the Indian team, predicting they will be a significant threat to their opponents.

Here's what England legend said:

"The strongest side, even with injuries throughout the tournament, is India. Their strength and depth are absolutely incredible," Morgan said. 

"We're probably talking about the players who missed out on their squad of 15 because of the quality they possess."

"They are favourites for me. The quality they have on paper, if they produce it, I think they can beat anybody quite well in the tournament," he added.

Despite entering almost every tournament as favourites, India have not secured an ICC title in over a decade, last winning the T20 World Cup in the inaugural 2007 tournament under MS Dhoni's leadership.

For this year’s T20 World Cup, India has retained much of the squad from the last edition while introducing new talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sanju Samson.
