Sanju Samson who was a part of India's T20 World Cup winning campaign is all set to join the Indian squad in Zimbabwe as he leaves for Harare following the celebrations in India.

Sanju Samson was initially named in the squad for the 5 T20Is to be played in Zimbabwe but was held back from being available for the first two games due to the cyclone in the Caribbean and the celebrations back at home, following the T20 World Cup triumph.

After being replaced by Jitesh Sharma for the first two T20Is, Samson has boarded his flight to Harare with his wife to join the squad for the remainder of the series.

Samsom leaves for Zimbabwe to join Indian squad

The Rajasthan Royals captain, after scoring 531 runs at a strike rate of 153.46 and 4 fifties to his name in the recently concluded IPL will be expected to bat at 3 in the last 3 T20Is. The other two members from the T20 World Cup winning squad who were asked to stay back were Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube who will also be joining the team with Sanju.

Samson was a part of the Indian T20I World Cup winning team and was felicitated by the BCCI at the Wankhede Stadium. Also, the entire 15-member squad met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a special breakfast.
