Chepauk Super Gillies to meet Nellai Royal Kings next in TNPL 2024 (X.com)
For the mega Sunday doubleheader, last season's runners-up, Nellai Royals Kings, will lock horns with Chepauk Super Gillies at the Salem Cricket Foundation Ground in an afternoon game starting from 3.15 PM IST.
While NRK will be playing their first game of the season, Chepauk is coming off a defeat versus Lyca Kovai Kings.

Nellai Royal Kings came close to winning the TNPL title last season before Lyca Kovai Kings shattered their dreams in the finale. Regardless, the team had a terrific season last year and looks forward to continuing the momentum this year as well.
Arun Karthik is expected to lead the side, with Ajitesh and Laxmesha Suryaprakash being lead anchors with the bat. On the other hand, Sonu Yadav played an important role with the ball last year, and he will lead the bowling attack with equal support from Gowtham and Mohan Prasath.

Meanwhile, Chepauk Super Gillies lost the tournament opener to defending champions Lyca Kovai Kings yesterday. In a low scoring thriller, CSG fell 13 runs short in a 142 run chase.
LKK captain Shah Rukh Khan and Gowtham TK bowled economical spells to break Baba Aparajith and Jagadeesan's resistance.
Unfortunately, Pradosh Ranjan Paul was forced to leave the field as he retired hurt just when he was inching closer to his half-century. Had he stayed, Paul could have easily created a difference in the results.
As far as the next game is concerned, Pradosh's participation is under scanner as Super Gillies are still evaluating his injury. Hence, CSG appears on the backfoot even before the game begins.
