The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gifted the Indian cricket team their Rs.125 crore reward in front of a packed Wankhede Stadium crowd after the T20 World Cup 2024 winning parade in Mumbai on July 4.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and the rest of his teammates arrived in Delhi on July 4, i.e., roughly five days after team’s triumphant moment in Barbados.

The players caught up with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the nation’s capital for a congratulatory breakfast before taking flight for Mumbai to perform a victory parade in an open bus for fans.

Indian players receive T20 World Cup reward

Shortly after Team India defeated South Africa in a high-octane final to lift the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy in Barbados on June 29, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced a Rs.125 crore for the winning team.

After landing in Delhi on July 4, the Indian players took flight for Mumbai in the evening where they performed a victory parade for fans in an open bus

The parade, which commenced from Marine Drive, concluded with the team’s arrival at the Wankhede Stadium. At the iconic venue, the Indian team received their hefty reward from BCCI officials during a grand ceremony in front of a passionate Wankhede crowd.

In the final, Team India amassed 176-7 after winning the toss and opting to bat first courtesy of a sublime 76 from Virat Kohli and sparkling cameos from Axar Patel and Shivam Dube.

Later in the South African chase, Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah got the early wickets before Hardik Pandya came up clutch in the death overs to end India’s 11-year ICC trophy drought.
