On Sunday, the highly-anticipated Asia Cup 2023 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan couldn't be completed, as rain played spoilsport, with India stranded on 147 for two in 24.1 overs. After being put into bat, India got off to a flying start, thanks to a scintillating opening stand between Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Riding on the openers' fireworks, the Men in Blue raced to 100 in the blink of an eye. However, soon after Sharma and Gill departed, rain intervened during the 25th over when Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were steading the Indian ship.

No further play was possible, as it continued to pour down at the iconic R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. So, as the game moves to the reserve day, let's see what the venue's weather forecast says for Monday.

Colombo Weather Forecast For September 11

As reported earlier, the inclement weather in Colombo interrupted the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan when India were cruising towards a daunting total. Despite valiant efforts from the Lankan groundsmen, the game couldn't be resumed further as the drizzle returned to the venue towards the fag end of the day.

A similar weather is expected on September 11, the reserve day to conclude the intriguing battle. As per weather.com, the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will likely witness intense rainfall on Monday, with the chances of precipitation reading as high as 80 to 90 per cent throughout the day. More importantly, there is a 70 to 80 per cent probability of a thunderstorm in the afternoon, particularly during the scheduled match time.

So, if it happens, we will see rain playing spoilsport again in the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup clash, with the game likely to end in no result.
