Irrespective of his poor form, Babar Azam is still Pakistan's best player and has a massive fan following in the nation. Even today, fans wait outside the stadium to get a glimpse of their star batter, who has given them a glimmer of hope in the last few years. However, things have not gone well in the last few years for the Pakistan batter.

His numbers have dropped drastically across formats, and the former captain was also snubbed from the T20I format due to his low strike rate. The right-handed player had a chance to redeem himself in the ODI series vs the West Indies, but he failed to deliver the goods.

As per reports, Babar's selection in Pakistan's Asia Cup squad is uncertain, and there is a good chance that he could be snubbed from the side. Hence, if not in the Asia Cup, here is the series where Pakistan fans can next witness Babar on the field.

Before the Asia Cup, Pakistan will play a T20I tri-series with UAE, and Afghanistan, and the Pakistan squad for this tour will be the same as the Asia Cup, and hence, there is minimal chance that Babar would be picked for it.

After the Asia Cup, Pakistan are scheduled to play a Test series against South Africa at home. The two-match Test series will be played in October, but the venues are yet to be finalised. Despite his struggles in T20 format, Pakistan needs his experience in Test cricket, and hence, there is a good chance that the batter could be selected for that series. South Africa have a solid bowling attack, and considering Pakistan's recent form, they need Babar's expertise against them.
