The Asia Cup 2025 is set to commence next month, and the Indian team has yet to finalize its squad for the marquee event. As per reports, the team will be revealed by August 19, and major changes are not expected in the squad selection. Earlier, there were reports that India team might surprise everyone with vital changes, but that rumour has been quashed.

With hardly four days left in the team announcement, several rumours have started to come up regarding the India squad. As per it, the three top performers from the Men in Blue might be neglected in the selection meeting. Here are those champion players who are rumoured not to be picked in the Asia Cup squad.

KL Rahul: Earlier, there were reports that KL Rahul could be a dark horse for the India T20I squad. The Karnataka batter had an exceptional IPL performance in the 2025 season, scoring 539 runs in 13 matches, with a strike rate of 149.72. However, despite a stellar season, the selectors are not sure about his place. KL can bat at the top, and the India team already has Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Sanju Samson for that slot.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: Yashasvi Jaiswal is certainly India's top T20I performer, but he hasn't played a T20I game for India since the Sri Lanka tour in July 2024. Since then, Team India has managed his workload, and in the meantime, the Gautam Gambhir-led side has preferred Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma as the openers. With just three days gap between Asia Cup final and West Indies Tests, India reportedly want Jaiswal to be fit for the Test series.

Shreyas Iyer: One of the best captains in IPL history, and perhaps the best leader of the IPL 2025 season, Shreyas Iyer's reported outcast comes in as a surprise. He had an exceptional IPL season with the bat in IPL 2025, scoring 604 runs in 17 matches. However, despite all his brilliance, team India are not considering him in the side.
