ICC Invites PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi To Watch IND-SA T20 WC 2024 Final

On Saturday, June 29, India will face South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. Meanwhile, ICC has begun preparations for the mega-event.

Ahead of the much-awaited clash, ICC has sent invites to all board members to be in attendance at the Kensington Oval for the finals. It means that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is likely to be present in the stands for the finals. 

Pakistan's leading sports website, Geo Super TV, reported that ICC is also planning to hold a meeting between board members ahead of the final. Fans can expect BCCI chairman Roger Binny and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi to hold a bilateral talk in regard to the controversy over the ICC Champions Trophy.

At present, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also Pakistan's home minister is presently travelling for an important United Nations meeting.

PCB and BCCI have been engaged in a cold war since Asia Cup 2023 after India refused to travel to Pakistan for the fifty-over event, following which they had to accept a hybrid model. 

A similar situation has erupted for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to be hosted by Pakistan. While BCCI has hinted that the Men in Blue will not travel to Pakistan and asking for a hybrid model, PCB is firm on its stand to not move the tournament out of Pakistan.
