Huge Boost For PCB! Injured Pakistan Opener Set To Play PSL 2025 Opening Match

In a significant development, Pakistan's star opener Fakhar Zaman, who was ruled out of Champions Trophy 2025 because of injury, has regained full fitness and is all set to feature in the first match of Pakistan Super League 2025 (PSL). Notably, the tenth edition of Pakistan's premier T20 league commences from April 11 and will overlap with the IPL 2025.

Fakhar Zaman Fully Fit For PSL 2025

Talking about Fakhar, the southpaw enjoys a massive fan-following and his return to the PSL is a delight for the fans and PCB as well from the commercial point of view. Lahore Qalandars' CEO Sameer Rana confirmed the news as he revealed that Fakhar is fit and will be available from first match of PSL 2025. 

Fakhar Marred With Controversy And Injury Before PSL 2025

Fakhar, who features for Lahore Qalandars, will play the curtain raiser game of PSL 10 on April 11 when the Shaheen Afridi-led side take on Islamabad United. Further, since PSL is overlapping with the IPL, they will struggle to find the viewership that the league enjoys during their usual February- March window. Thus, they require stars like Fakhar Zaman to be available from the start of PSL. 

Things haven't been right for Fakhar lately as he was first dropped from the team because of the controversial tweet made against PCB that saw him miss several series because of disciplinary action. However, he returned for Champions Trophy 2025 as Saim Ayub's replacement, but was ruled out of the tournament in the first match after sustaining an injury. 

Now since Fakhar is fit and all set to play PSL 10, there are reports that Saim Ayub, who too has been out of action since South Africa tour, has recovered from his ankle injury and will play PSL 10.
