Ahead of the 2nd T20I between Pakistan and New Zealand, Khushdil Shah has dealt a heavy blow as ICC has found him guilty for violating code and conduct of the game in the first T20I. Shah, who was part of the opening match of the five-match series, hogged the internet after he barged into the back of bowler Zakary Foulkes. The incident occurred in the eighth over of the match.

ICC Fines Shah  50% Of His Match Fees

Further, the ICC has slapped Shah with heavy fine as he been stripped of 50% of his match fees from the first T20I. "Khushdil was found in violation of Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator during an International Match),” read ICC's statement.

Khushdil accepted the sanctions levelled by the umpires and Match Referee Jeff Crowe, as a result of which there was no need for a formal hearing. The ICC has handed three demerit points to Shah over his inappropriate act.

Khushdil Shah To Be Banned For 2nd T20I vs NZ?

It is worth noting that Shah has barely managed to skip a ban as ICC, in their statement, remarked that if Khushdil would have got four or more demerit points, then he would have been banned for 2 ODIs. But since it was his first offense in past 24 months, he won't face any ban.

Talking about the first match, then Pakistan registered an embarrassment as they tumbled for just 91 runs, their fifth lowest total in T20I history. However, Shah was the only saving grace in the batting for the Men in Green as Khushdil amassed 32 (30).
