West Indies' premier all-rounder Jason Holder and promising fast bowler Jayden Seales have made significant strides in the updated ICC Test rankings for men's cricketers.

Despite the Men in Maroon's infamous series defeat against South Africa, Holder and Seales were phenomenal for the hosts. Their impressive returns in the series have resulted in their rise in the ICC rankings.

Holder, Seales gain big in ICC Test rankings

Former West Indies captain Jason Holder amassed 121 runs, including a valiant fifty, at a phenomenal average of 60.50 in the Test series against South Africa. His astounding effort with the bat helped him move two places up to number five in the Test all-rounder rankings.

Meanwhile, Seales showcased his bowling prowess against the mighty Proteas, scalping 12 wickets in two matches at an unbelievable average of 18.08 and a strike rate of 32.17.

His stellar bowling performance helped him gain 13 places and move up to the 13th position on the bowlers' list.

Among other players, Shamar Joseph has moved 11 places up to number 54, riding on his clinical spell in Guyana. Wiaan Mulder, who troubled the West Indies batters with his accuracy, has risen 27 spots to 65th in the bowlers' rankings.

Regarding the batter rankings, legendary Englishman Joe Root still occupies the top position, while Aiden Markram (up two places to 21st) and Kyle Verrynne (up 16 spots to equal 46th) have also made significant progress.
