Cricket West Indies has announced the 15-member T20I squad for the three-match T20I series against South Africa. Andre Russell and Jason Holder have both been rested for the series while Fabian Allen has made a comeback into the side.

Roston Chase has announced as the vice-captain of the side following his impressive performance in the T20 World Cup, and the squad contains good mixture of youth and experience. There is no Brandon King and Kyle Mayers in the squad while Johnson Charles retains his place and Alick Athanaze is an exciting name added to the batting stocks.

Nicholas Pooran And Shimron Hetmyer Included

There is the experienced duo of Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran along with Shai Hope and captain Rovman Powell in the middle order. Also, Sherfane Rutherford has done quite well in the recent past and he retains his spot in the squad.

Gudakesh Motie and Akeal Hosein are the two spinners while speedster Shamar Joseph will accompany Obed McCoy and Romario Shepherd in pace-bowling department.

West Indies very narrowly missed out on the semi-final place in the recently held T20 World Cup in their home conditions and would be looking to prove a point against the runners-up of that competition. The first T20I will be played on 24th of August and all the games will be played at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba.
