In a significant development around Jasprit Bumrah, there are reports that the right-arm seamer is set to begin his rehabilitation, and the BCCI will wait till February 11 to make a call on Bumrah's availability for Champions Trophy 2025. According to a report from ESPN Cricinfo, Bumrah is facing a race against time, and the BCCI will wait till the last date of making changes to the squad to take any decision on Bumrah.

Notably, Bumrah has been out of the team since the 5th Test against Australia in January this year because of a back injury. He was named in the squad in the hope that he might recover in time for the tournament. At present, the ESPN Cricinfo report mentioned that the BCCI will have Bumrah in the squad, even if he will be fit to take part in the later stages of the tournament.

However, if Bumrah's scans don't come out positively then BCCI will replace the MI star with Harshit Rana, who just made his ODI debut against England in the ongoing series. The right-arm seamer had also replaced Bumrah in the England ODI series and is doing well.

Notably, Rana, who made his debut in the first ODI at Nagpur, has taken four wickets in two matches and has impressed the critics. It is to be seen whether the BCCI will trust Rana and not risk Bumrah's injury or if they will rush the MI star into the team, be it for the later stages, given the importance of a tournament like the Champions Trophy.

For the unversed, India will start their campaign on February 20 against Bangladesh and then take on Pakistan and New Zealand on February 23 and March 2.
