Devon Conway started off his international career with a bang in 2020-21 and quickly rose through the ranks to become the pillar of New Zealand's batting line-up. However, his form took a beating after 2023 World Cup and injuries also haunted his progress. He also could not play ODI cricket after the World Cup in India due to variety of reasons, and New Zealand decided to not include him in the first ODI against Pakistan in tri-series.

However, the injury to Rachin Ravindra gave him a golden chance against South Africa and the batter has grabbed it with both hands, scoring 97 off 107 balls. He looked set for a century as well, but a brilliant catch from Senuran Muthuswamy ended his stint and Devon Conway walked back disappointed. He had a smile on his face though after the dismissal and it was more because he could not believe his luck.

Senuran Muthuswamy Stages South African Comeback

It was the third delivery of the 36th over and New Zealand were cruising with only one wicket down at the score of 237 in their run-chase of 305. Williamson had just reached his century and Conway also sensed an opportunity on that third ball as Junior Dala bowled it short and wide. The left-handed batter played a cut shot, but did not keep it on the ground and Senuran Muthuswamy at point dived to his left to grab a stunning catch.

Soon, Senuran Muthuswamy got into the act with the ball and grabbed two in two to create some pain in New Zealand's dressing room after they dominated most of the chase.
