Pakistan batting great Babar Azam pounded 111 unbeaten runs for Peshawar Zalmi against Islamabad United in match number 13 of the ongoing PSL 2024 season.

The innings marked his third fifty-plus score of the tournament and ensured that Zalmi registered its third win in succession to jump back to the playoffs reckoning.

As Babar continues to plunder runs in a heap, former Pakistan captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram was recently asked what his bowling plans would be if he ever got a chance to bowl at the country's modern-day batting legend.

Dropping a remarkable response, Akram praised the Peshawar Zalmi skipper and compared him with the likes of all-time greats Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara for a certain batting aspect.

Wasim Akram reveals his bowling plans for Babar Azam

While speaking on A Sports, Wasim Akram praised Pakistan batting legend Babar Azam for his consistent run and stellar abilities with the bat. He even claimed the 29-year-old is as technically sound as former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara.

When asked what his bowling plans would be for Babar, Akram stated that he would try bowling attacking lines to him in the initial few overs. The former Pakistan captain and legendary fast bowler said:

"He (Babar) is among three best batters in the world right now and he plays proper cricketing shots. Had he been a pinch hitter, then the bowler would know that he has a chance to get him out."

"But Babar; or players like Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar, it was difficult to bowl to them because they play good shots against good deliveries and hence give you lesser opportunities to dismiss them. These are technically-good batters. But yes, bowl attacking lines in the first few overs just to check whether they are set on that particular track."

Babar Azam has tallied 330 runs from just five PSL 2024 innings at a splendid average of 82.5. Currently, the Peshawar Zalmi skipper is leading the run-scoring race of the tournament by finding himself 30 runs ahead of Lahore Qalandars' South African import Rassie van der Dussen.

Babar will now lead the Peshawar Zalmi franchise in match number 20 of the PSL 2024 season against Islamabad United at Rawalpindi on March 4.
