Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has arrived in Bangalore to join the RCB training camp ahead of the forthcoming IPL 2024 season.

Soon after winning the 2023 World Cup, Maxwell featured in a five-match T20I series in India. He subsequently joined the Melbourne Stars camp for the 2023-24 BBL season before representing his nation for several white-ball ventures against West Indies and New Zealand.

On March 13, i.e., roughly a week prior to the launch of IPL 2024, Glenn Maxwell touched ground in Bangalore to join RCB’s pre-season training camp.

The franchise welcomed the 35-year-old cricketer with a heartwarming social media post. In the caption, they wrote:

“Happiness Pro MAX to have Maxi in Namma Bengaluru. Welcome to the house of RCB, Champ! 🙌”

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis also reached Bangalore just a day prior to Maxwell’s arrival. The former South African captain has already joined the RCB camp as he braces up for the much-awaited competition.

Glenn Maxwell, meanwhile, was retained by the RCB franchise back in November 2023 during the IPL 2024 retention phase. The Australian all-round juggernaut was first acquired by the RCB management back in 2021, and his blistering maiden season (513 runs) solidified his association with the franchise for the long run.

Even back during the IPL 2023 season in India, Maxwell blazed his way to 400 runs at an average of 33.33, all while striking at over 183. The hard-hitting radical blasted five half-centuries throughout the tournament, and cleared the fence on 31 occasions.

With the likes of Glenn Maxwell and captain Faf du Plessis already in town, the RCB franchise is scheduled to face defending champions CSK in the opening match of the IPL 2024 season. The much-awaited contest will be staged at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
