In a major development, the BCCI appointed Test skipper Shubman Gill as India’s new T20I vice-captain. Captain Suryakumar Yadav will be accompanied by fellow senior pros like Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav and blistering wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson.

Renuka Returns, Harmanpreet To Lead India Women In WC 2025

The BCCI also named India’s 15-player squad for the upcoming 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup at home. Harmanpreet Kaur is set to continue as India Women captain, with prolific opener Smriti Mandhana serving as her deputy. Among star attractions, Shafali Verma and Shreyanka Patil failed to make a cut into the squad.
