Marnus Labuschagne is set to complete 10 Big Bash League (BBL) seasons with Brisbane Heat later this year. The Australian batting star recently re-signed with the Heat for the BBL 2025-26 season to mark a new deal.
Labuschagne made his BBL debut back during the 2016-17 season for the Brisbane Heat team itself, and to date, he has played 28 games for them. Much like the preceding editions of the tournament, the cricketer will once again be expected to play only a handful of BBL fixtures for Brisbane Heat as he will also be projected to turn up for Australia at the time for the 2025-26 home Ashes Test series against England.

Marnus Labuschagne is set to complete 10 years of association with the Brisbane Heat team in BBL. After signing a new deal with the Heat for the upcoming BBL 2025-26 season, Labuschagne stated that he loves playing for them in every chance he can get amid Australia’s year-end Test series at home.
The 31-year-old also expressed his excitement in playing alongside Pakistani quick Shaheen Afridi. It is worth noting that Shaheen was picked up by the Brisbane Heat team back in June this year during the BBL 2025-26 player’s draft.
Nonetheless, the BBL 2025-26 season is scheduled to launch from December 14 this year, and will run up until January 25. The series will also coincide with Australia’s 2025-26 Ashes campaign at home against England.
It remains to be seen how many games Marnus Labuschagne will be available to play for Brisbane Heat this time around. A veteran of 58 Tests for Australia, the cricketer was recently dropped from the Australian team for their three-match away series against West Indies in the Caribbean.
