On a crucial Day 3 of the second Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan's pace spearhead Khurram Shahzad put on a masterclass of swing bowling that left Bangladesh gasping for breath.

After dismissing opener Zakir Hasan for just 1, Shahzad continued to wreak havoc, sending shockwaves through the Bangladesh batting lineup.

The highlight of the morning came on the very first ball of the eighth over, where Shahzad delivered an absolute gem to dismiss Shadman Islam.

Bowling with venom and determination, Khurram Shahzad unleashed a good-length delivery that swung in sharply, making a beeline for the stumps.

Islam, who had shuffled across his crease in an attempt to flick the ball towards the leg side, was completely undone by the late swing. The ball, bypassing his pads, crashed into the leg stump, leaving Islam to trudge back to the pavillion with just 10 runs off 23 balls to his name.

Bangladesh on the back foot as Pakistan takes control

Shahzad’s early breakthroughs set the tone for the rest of the session, as he went on to claim four wickets in total. With the rest of the Bangladesh lineup crumbling like a house of cards, they found themselves in deep trouble at 57/6.

Mir Hamza chipped in with two wickets of his own, compounding Bangladesh’s woes as they stare down the barrel of a massive 217-run deficit.

As the dust settles on the morning session, Bangladesh's lower order now faces an uphill battle to claw back into the match.

With Pakistan's first innings total of 274 looming large, the visitors will need nothing short of a miracle to stay in the game. Pakistan, trailing the series 1-0, have seized the momentum and will be eager to press home their advantage, with the hopes of levelling the series firmly in their sights.
