The Champions Trophy 2025 is the next big ICC event lined up as Pakistan will host the fifty-over tournament from February 19 to March 9.

There are a lot of discussions going around Pakistan hosting the tournament as team India are unwilling to travel to the neighbouring country, citing security concerns.

It is not clear whether the Men in Blue will travel to Pakistan, but the PCB is clear that they will not shift the tournament out of the country. While every cricketing pundit from Pakistan is asking India to come to Pakistan, ex-cricketer Basit Ali, has asked the PCB to be careful with the security of visiting teams in the upcoming tours as a breach would result in the Champions Trophy not happening in Pakistan.

He also questioned about the soldiers being killed in Baluchistan and Peshawar.

"Since the Champions Trophy is in Pakistan, and teams like England and West Indies are scheduled to tour after Bangladesh, we must pay attention to security. God forbid, the Champions Trophy won't be played here if there is any incident in these tours. Our soldiers are getting martyred in Balochistan and Peshawar. Only the government can answer why it has been happening, but it's wrong."

In July 2024, the board members across cricketing nations met in Sri Lanka but no discussions took place regarding Champions Trophy.
