India failed to recover from its overnight jitters to fall to a 22-run defeat on Day 5 of the thrilling Lord’s Test. England fast bowlers Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes picked up two wickets each on the day to complete three for the innings as Team India folded up for 170 in 74.5 overs. Chris Woakes and Shoaib Bashir also chipped in with a wicket each, while Ravindra Jadeja waged the lone rebellion for the Indian team with a fighting 61* from 181 balls.
Quinton De Kock, Boult Headline MI New York’s MLC 2025 Win
MI New York pipped Washington Freedom by five runs in Dallas in the final to lift the coveted MLC 2025 crown. Batting first, a 46-ball 77 from opener Quinton de Kock and an unbeaten 13-ball 22* from Kunwarjeet Singh catapulted the MI New York to 180-7 from 20 overs. For Freedom, Lockie Ferguson picked up exceptional figures of 3-21.
Chasing 181, Rachin Ravindra belted an explosive 41-ball 70 at the top of the order. Glenn Phillips also cracked an unbeaten 34-ball 48*, but Trent Boult’s opening two-wicket burst and some tight death-overs bowling from Rushil Ugarkar restricted Freedom to 175-5.
Dewald Brevis, Hermann Overcome ZIM In Tri-Series Opener
South Africa secured a comfortable five-wicket win against Zimbabwe in the opening match of the T20I Tri-Series in Harare. Zimbabwe batted first and carted 141-6 off 20 overs, with captain Sikandar Raza making 54* from just 38 balls. For South Africa, George Linde unfurled the spell of the innings with figures of 3-10.
The Proteas slipped to 38-3 inside the powerplay courtesy of some new ball brilliance from Richard Ngarava (3-35). Trevor Gwandu also picked up two wickets, but a composed 45 from Rubin Hermann and an explosive 17-ball 41 from Dewald Brevis ensured South Africa’s win in 15.5 overs.
15 Wickets Fall On Day 2 Of WI Vs AUS Third Test
West Indies bundled out for just 143 in 52.1 overs on Day 2 of the third Test to concede a huge 82-run lead to Australia. Scott Boland picked up figures of 3-34 in the innings while Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins chipped in with two wickets apiece.
Facing the final 29 overs of the day, Australia reached 99-6 with Cameron Green batting at 42*. Alzarri Joseph snapped three huge wickets for just 19 runs, and he received much assistance from in-form Shamar Joseph (2-26).
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Excels With The Ball On Day 3 Of Under-19 Test
India’s young batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi picked up two crucial wickets with the ball in his 13-over spell yielding 35 runs. Henil Patel (3-81) and RS Ambrish (2-81) collectively picked up five wickets between them as India Under-19 bowlers folded up England Under-19 for 439 in 114.5 overs to gain a handy 101-run lead. For England, Ekansh Singh and Ralphie Albert notched up swift half-centuries in the day.
Suryavanshi further backed up his two-wicket recital with a whirlwind 44-ball 56 as India’s lead extended past the 200-run mark before stumps on Day 3.
