Shoaib Bashir has been ruled out of the final two Tests of the series, as confirmed by the England team management shortly after their tense win against India at Lord’s. Bashir, who bowled less than six overs in the decisive innings of the match, delivered the knockout blow to the Indians with the wicket of number 11 Mohammed Siraj.

It is worth noting that the 21-year-old suffered a finger injury on Day 3 of the Lord’s Test, at a time when Ravindra Jadeja played a shot right back towards the bowler.

Shoaib Bashir To Leave England’s Spin Duties In India Series

Shoaib Bashir, England’s spin master for the ongoing five-match Test series against India, has been ruled out of the final two Tests after he dislocated his finger during the first Indian innings of the third match at Lord’s. As confirmed by the England team management, the cricketer sustained a fracture on his left finger and he will be undergoing a surgery later this week.

The fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar series, on the other hand, is scheduled to commence from Wednesday, July 23 onwards. The match will be hosted by the iconic Old Trafford in Manchester.

Shoaib Bashir picked up just two wickets across both innings of the Lord’s Test, which included the match-winning blow for England in the final session of Day 5. Overall, the right-arm spinner has nabbed 10 wickets in six innings spanning three matches at an average of 54.10 and with a bowling strike rate of 84.4.

It remains to be seen which spinner will be replacing Shoaib Bashir for the remainder of the series against India. Players like Jack Leach, Rehan Ahmed and Liam Dawson are among the likely names to be considered by the English team management.
