The final match of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will reportedly be hosted by an iconic Indian venue based in Ahmedabad. David Miller has been ruled out of the South Africa squad for the three-match T20I series against England. In other news, the ECB has named England’s playing XI for the series-opening first T20I.

T20 WC 2026 Tentative Dates Out, Narendra Modi Stadium To Host Final

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will reportedly be played between February 7 and March 8. The 20-team tournament will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. While the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is scheduled to host the final, the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will stage the title clash in case the Pakistani cricket team makes it to the top two. The 2026 T20 World Cup will follow the same format as the previous edition back in 2024, where Team India won the title against South Africa in a nail-biter.

Sri Lanka Add All-Rounder Liyanage In Asia Cup 2025 Squad

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Selection Committee has added star batting all-rounder Janith Liyanage to increase their Asia Cup 2025 squad strength to 17 players. Liyanage played the last of his three T20Is for Sri Lanka back in February 2022 during an away series against Team India. The 30-year-old holds an overall experience of 74 T20 matches, having scored 1102 runs in the format at a strike rate of 111.76 all while additionally harvesting 32 wickets.

Dewald Brevis Becomes Most Expensive SA20 Player

South African batting dynamite Dewald Brevis has become the most expensive cricketer ever in the history of SA20. The youngster was nabbed by the Pretoria Capitals for a lucrative sum of R16.50 million (INR 8 crore 30 lakh approx.) after the franchise was involved in an intense bidding war with the Joburg Super Kings.

Dewald Brevis played for CSK earlier this year during IPL 2025 as a mid-season injury replacement, and the explosive middle-order batter has been in exceptional touch with the bat for the Proteas off late.

Salt, Sam Curran And Archer Return In ENG XI For 1st T20I

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has named England’s playing XI for the upcoming first T20I match against South Africa. The ECB recalled explosive batter Phil Salt, Jamie Overton, star all-rounder Sam Curran and fearsome paceman Jofra Archer in four changes from their last T20I outing. The series will serve as a testing ground for both sides ahead of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The match will be hosted by the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff and the action will commence from 11:00 PM IST onwards on Wednesday, September 10.

David Miller Ruled Out Of England T20I Series

Seasoned South Africa batter David Miller has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against hosts England. Miller suffered a hamstring injury last month during The Hundred 2025 season. CSA confirmed that the cricketer has been unable to attain full recovery in time for the series-opening first T20I match at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. The board, however, has not named a replacement for David Miller yet as the Proteas group is now down to 14 players for the series.
