RCB are setting the stage on fire with their prep games ahead of the crucial season opener against KKR on March 22. While fans are excited about Rajat Patidar's captaincy, Devdutt Padikkal, who came back to RCB after years announced form with a batting whirlwind.

In a thrilling display of batting prowess, Devdutt Padikkal scored an impressive 82 runs off just 48 balls during an intra-squad practice match at the RCB camp.

Padikkal Blasts Off During Practice Session

Padikkal, a left-handed batter from Kerala, has been a promising figure in the IPL. He initially rose to fame with RCB, where he played 29 matches and scored 884 runs, including a century and six half-centuries. 

His breakout season was in 2020, when he amassed 473 runs at an average of 31.53, hitting five half-centuries. After a stint with Rajasthan Royals, Padikkal's return to RCB could bolster their batting lineup and see him probably at the number 3 position. 

Nevertheless, Padikkal proved his point with the bat in the RCB camp where he stormed with the bat to smash 82 runs from just 48 balls where Patidar was also storming in with the bat alongside Virat Kohli.

Notably, RCB is gearing up for the new season under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, who has taken over as captain from Faf du Plessis. Virat Kohli has expressed strong support for Patidar, calling him the future leader of the franchise. 

RCB Eyes Maiden IPL Title in 2025

In IPL 2024, RCB staged a remarkable turnaround by winning six consecutive matches to secure a playoff spot. Despite a slow start, they finished the league stage in the top four, showcasing their resilience and team spirit. Although they ultimately lost in the playoffs, their performance was phenomenal.

Now, with a well-balanced squad in both batting and bowling and a new captain, RCB aims to break their title drought in IPL 2025.
