Arshdeep enters IPL 2025 in excellent form who almost made it to the Champions Trophy playing XI, delivered an outstanding performance in the 2024 Vijay Hazare Trophy, taking 20 wickets in 7 innings with a remarkable economy rate of 5.63 and a strike rate of 19.00. His standout performances included a sensational 5/38 against Mumbai and a brilliant 4/19 against Puducherry. 

Yuzvendra Chahal showcased impressive form in the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), taking 7 wickets in 4 innings with an exceptional economy rate of 4.76 and a strike rate of 15.00.

Though Arshdeep is a bit costly in the powerplays his better strike rate and more number of wickets proves his worth as a powerplay option. Yuzi appeared 49 times in powerplays but has a dismissal rate of only 34.70%. Hence, Arshdeep should be a better option with the ball which can strike early for PBKS.

Yuzi controls the middle overs well with his better strike rate and economy under 8. Having played more than 4 times the matches than Arshdeep, Yuzi's strike rate and economy rate speak for his credibility to stifle opponents during the middle overs and hence he is a better bowler after the powerplays.

However, given IPL's batter-dominated pitches, chances of spinners succeeding in the death overs are low. Hence, Arshdeep should succeed in the death overs.

Chahal Or Arshdeep - Who Will Be More Impactful?

While both bowlers bring exceptional quality to PBKS, their impact will likely vary depending on match conditions and opposition. On bouncy tracks against teams with power-hitting middle orders, Arshdeep's pace variations and yorkers at the death could prove more decisive. 

Conversely, against teams with aggressive top orders on wearing pitches, Chahal, who has been eyeing county cricket, has the ability to induce false shots through flight and turn might be more valuable.

However, looking at the bigger picture here, given that Arshdeep Singh is in better form and has scalped wickets consistently in the England T20Is and List A matches, he can be more impactful than Chahal with the pace during the start and death overs of the game.
