Delhi Capitals Women defeated Mumbai Indians Women by 2 wickets in a thrilling chase in the Women’s Premier League 2025. Chasing a competitive target of165, Shafali Verma set the tone with a blistering 43 off 18 balls whereas Niki Prasad’s 35 (33) guided DC to a win off the final ball. Sarah Bryce's quick 21 (10) provided a crucial boost in the death overs.

Earlier, Nat Sciver-Brunt anchored MI’s innings with an unbeaten 80 off 59, supported by Harmanpreet Kaur’s explosive 42 (22). Annabel Sutherland (3/34) and Shikha Pandey (2/14) were the pick of DC’s bowlers.

TNPL 2025 Auction Highlights: Biggest Buys, Top Picks, and Surprises

The TNPL 2025 Auction witnessed intense bidding as teams scrambled to build strong squads. Vijay Shankar was the first player sold as he joined Chepauk Super Gillies for INR18 lakh. Salem Spartans made the biggest splash, securing Mohammed M for INR18.40 lakh and Hari Nishaanth for INR12 lakh.

Dindigul Dragons added Periyasamy G for INR 9.80 lakh and Maan Bafna for INR 5.70 lakh. Trichy Grand Cholas strengthened with Washington Sundar for INR 6 lakh. Lyca Kovai Kings bagged Andre Siddarth for INR 8.40 lakh, while Madurai Panthers added Atheeq Ur Rahman for INR 7.75 lakh. Notable unsold players included Guru Sayee G, Diran VP, and Rahul D.

Harmanpreet Kaur Reaches 8000 T20 Run Milestone In T20s

Mumbai Indians Women skipper Harmanpreet Kaur unlocked a huge milestone during WPL 2025 Match 2 against Delhi Capitals Women as she became the second Indian woman to amass 8,000 runs in T20 cricket after Smriti Mandhana.

The 35-year-old smashed 42 off 22 balls at a strike rate of 190.91, hitting four boundaries and three sixes. Harman’s quickfire knock, alongside Nat Sciver-Brunt’s unbeaten 80, helped MI-W post 164 runs after early setbacks.

Harman reached the milestone with a six off Annabel Sutherland, followed by consecutive boundaries before getting dismissed in the same over.

CSK vs MI Set For A Blockbuster Clash on March 23

According to reports, the IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will be held on March 23 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Known for their intense rivalry, CSK and MI are two of the most successful teams in IPL history, with Mumbai winning five titles and CSK renowned for their consistency. The upcoming IPL season will begin on March 22 with KKR facing RCB, leaving just a 12-day gap from the Champions Trophy Final to the start of this high-voltage T20 league.

Shreyanka Patil Ruled Out Of WPL 2025, Sneh Rana Joins RCB

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) offspinner Shreyanka Patil has been ruled out of WPL 2025 due to injury, with spin-bowling allrounder Sneh Rana named as her replacement. The extent of Patil’s injury remains unclear.

Rana, who previously played for Gujarat Giants and captained the side in WPL’s first season, joins RCB for INR 30 lakh after going unsold in last December’s auction. Rana took six wickets in 12 matches for Gujarat with a 9.02 economy. Patil was a key player in RCB’s title-winning campaign last year, finishing as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets in eight matches.
