Zimbabwe will take on Ireland in the second ODI at the Harare Sports Club, with the match set to begin at 1:00 PM IST. The hosts, led by Craig Ervine, are riding high after a commanding 49-run victory in the first ODI and will aim to clinch the series with another strong performance.

Zimbabwe showcased an all-round effort in the opening match, with Brian Bennett leading the charge with the bat and the bowlers delivering a clinical performance. Blessing Muzarabani was the star with the ball, while Richard Ngarava also made significant contribution. Sikandar Raza and Wessly Madhevere also chipped in with crucial wickets, ensuring Ireland never fully recovered in their chase.

On the other hand, Ireland, will be eager to put their first-match struggles behind them. Despite promising starts from Paul Stirling and Curtis Campher, their batting faltered under pressure. The middle order lacked momentum, which ultimately led to their downfall. Bowling lapses also hurt Ireland, as they failed to contain Zimbabwe’s batting attack early on. They will need a much-improved effort with both bat and ball to level the series.

So ahead of the second ODI, in this article, let's take a look at the head-to-head record between both the teams.

ZIM vs IRE : What Happened When They Last Played In ODI Match?

The last time Zimbabwe and Ireland faced each other in the ODI match was on February 14, 2025. Zimbabwe put on a commanding performance to defeat Ireland by 49 runs in the first ODI at Harare Sports Club, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. After setting a challenging target of 299, Zimbabwe’s bowlers stepped up to defend it successfully, led by a stellar four-wicket haul from Blessing Muzarabani.

Earlier in the match, Ireland won the toss and opted to bowl first, Zimbabwe’s batting effort in the first innings was anchored by Brian Bennett, who made 169 runs off 163 balls. Captain Craig Ervine also made significant contribution with the bat (66 runs off 61 balls).

Chasing the target, Ireland's chase got off to a rocky start as Richard Ngarava dismissed Andrew Balbirnie on the final ball of the first over. Paul Stirling and Curtis Campher attempted to stabilise the innings with a 55-run stand. Campher then partnered with Harry Tector to add another 54 runs, but their scoring rate slowed down under Zimbabwe’s disciplined bowling attack.

Despite a late fightback from Andy McBrine and George Dockrell, who added a quick 73-run partnership for the seventh wicket off just 56 balls, the mounting required run rate proved too much for Ireland.
