Mumbai Indians women (MI-W) skipper Harmanpreet Kaur unlocked another massive milestone while batting against Delhi Capitals women (DC-W) in the 2nd match of the WPL (Women's Premier League) 2025. Kaur, who is also the Indian skipper, played a vital 42-run knock to bail her side out of trouble after early wickets.
Harmanpreet Kaur Achieves 8000 Runs In T20 Career
Harmanpreet Kaur is a vital cog for any side she has played for. The 35-year-old, currently playing for Mumbai Indians in the WPL, achieved the milestone of 8,000 runs in her T20 career. The right-hander was highly crucial to her side in her knock alongside Nat Sciver-Brunt (80*), pushing their side's total to 164 while none of the other batters were able to rise up to the occasion.
Harman achieved the feat on the third delivery of the 11th over as she smacked Annabel Sutherland for a six, while the preceding two deliveries of that over also went for two consecutive boundaries. However, Harman didn't stop there, as she found a four on the next delivery as well. But her good time didn't last long, as on the fifth delivery of that very over, she was dismissed by Sutherland.
She ended up playing 22 deliveries, managing four boundaries and three sixes, batting at a strike rate of 190.91 to smash 42 runs. Meanwhile, she has achieved this outstanding feat of 8,000 runs after featuring in various leagues worldwide and in international cricket for India.
In her WPL career, Harman has so far played 18 matches, where she has struck 591 runs while scoring 1,440 and 176 runs in the Women's Big Bash League and The Hundred Women's League, respectively.
Talking about her international career, Harman has 3,589 runs in her T20 internationals from 178 matches, and to go along with that, she has performed brilliantly for her domestic side, Punjab, as well.
By achieving this feat, she became the second Indian to score 8,000 runs in a T20 career. The first one to reach the milestone was Indian opener Smriti Mandhana, who currently has 8,349 runs to her name, whereas third on the list is Jemimah Rodrigues, who, in her short career, has 5,826 runs so far.
