Prithvi Shaw, currently sidelined from Mumbai's Ranji Trophy squad over fitness issues, posted a dance reel on his 25th birthday. However, fans were brutal as they continuously trolled him on the internet and called out Shaw's indiscipline and unseriousness towards the sport.

Once considered the next big superstar in Indian cricket, Prithvi Shaw lost track of his professional cricketing career amid injuries, fitness problems and off-field controversies. In latest blow, Shaw was dropped from Mumbai's Ranji Trophy squad over indiscipline and unacceptable fitness standards.

While Prithvi Shaw gets a spot in the 20-over domestic tournament, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he would still have to prove his fitness and cut down body fat if he really wants a smoother comeback. More importantly, since the IPL 2025 mega auction is just around the corner, the latest Ranji snub could play havoc with the bidding process.

Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw turned 25 on November 9, and he celebrated the occasion with close friends at his luxurious home in Mumbai. The cricketer can be seen dancing his night away with his girlfriend, Niddhi Tapadia, and a few glamour industry friends and a video of this sighting is reportedly being circulated on various social media platforms.

Many drew comparisons between Shaw and Vinod Kambli, whose career sunk after he totally indulged in bad habits. Many also question his commitment to fitness and discipline, two factors that have brought failure at different stages of his cricketing career.


Moreover, With the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy approaching, fans were frustrated over his off-field behaviour, questioning his dedication to making a comeback.

Shaw lowers his IPL base price after Ranji snub

After getting dropped from Mumbai's squad for ongoing Ranji Trophy fixtures, Prithvi Shaw registered his name for the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction but significantly lowered his base price to attract more bidders. Shaw has set his starting bidding price to INR 75 lakhs, which is just INR 50 lakhs more than the minimum base price for uncapped players. Shaw scored 198 runs at an average of 24.75 in IPL 2024 before eventually getting dropped by Delhi Capitals.
