Many drew comparisons between Shaw and Vinod Kambli, whose career sunk after he totally indulged in bad habits. Many also question his commitment to fitness and discipline, two factors that have brought failure at different stages of his cricketing career.

Shaw lowers his IPL base price after Ranji snub
After getting dropped from Mumbai's squad for ongoing Ranji Trophy fixtures, Prithvi Shaw registered his name for the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction but significantly lowered his base price to attract more bidders. Shaw has set his starting bidding price to INR 75 lakhs, which is just INR 50 lakhs more than the minimum base price for uncapped players. Shaw scored 198 runs at an average of 24.75 in IPL 2024 before eventually getting dropped by Delhi Capitals.
